Lettie Pate Grant

The Lettie Pate Grant is funded by the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation. The grant provides assistance to female students from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia who are eligible for the Pell Grant. Grants are generally less than $2,000.

Students qualify for the funds by submitting a FAFSA and having the FAFSA information sent to Spelman. There is no application for this grant, the FAFSA is used to qualify students. Funds are limited and are awarded to eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis so students are encouraged to submit their FAFSA's early in order to have the best opportunity for receiving funds.


Spelman Need-Based Grant

The Spelman Need-Based Grant is an institutional grant provided by Spelman. The grant provides additional assistance to students who have financial need. There is no application for this grant, the FAFSA is used to qualify students. Funds are limited and are awarded to eligible students on a first come, first served basis so students are encouraged to submit their FAFSA's early in order to have the best opportunity for receiving funds.
